YES, Audiobooks can
play on some cell phones, and the list of compatible phones grows every
day!
Why carry two devices when
one might do?
All Audiobooks can be listened to on your computer or laptop and most
mp3 players. If you want to listen on your cell phone, you will need a
device which can play Windows media files using DRM (copy
protection).
Will audiobooks play on MY
phone?
There is no complete listing of all phones that will play
OverDrive Audiobooks, but we recommend checking these lists for
compatible phones:
-
Known Compatible Devices: This page lists devices that
OverDrive has tested and confirmed as compatible.
-
Palm
Devices using Pocket Tunes: This software makes selected
Palm phones compatible.
If you are using a Pocket PC,
OverDrive Media files must be transferred to a memory card. Be sure
you have a memory card with sufficient memory space installed, and
be sure to specify the memory card in the course of the transfer
process.
Give it a try!
Generally, if you know your phone plays Windows Media files,
you'll be able to listen to OverDrive Audiobooks. If your phone is
not on the lists above that doesn't mean it won't work. In
some cases, you may need to download a small piece of software or
firmware upgrade
to make your phone compatible. Check your phone manufacturer's
website for information.
